Strawberry herbal tea on my desk.
I have an account on Facebook but find it difficult to stay in touch with all the people I know as there are far too many info and status to read on my page. So, I have recently created a page called 'Flora Douville et des champs', and invite you to follow it (or 'like' it) if you wish. In the meantime I am sorting out what has now become my personal account, and will only keep as 'friends' people I have already met in person, even only once -had to find a rule and stick to it.
And a special info: there's a giveaway going on right now! Click here and scroll down.
My Flickr account is now back on track. Haven't tagged or filled in the captions for the pictures I massively uploaded the other day, but am adding everything there from now on. You can connect there with me, no restriction :)
Have a lovely day now!

jewelry (5)

And these are the ones I wear a lot these days. They are fun and I like to have them when wearing something very simple and neutral. You can find some similar pieces here :)

These are the 2 other rings I wear. The thin one comes from Proteales on Etsy, and the braided one was made by my friend jeweller. I would love to have 1 or 2 more rings though, any good webshop to share?

jewelry (3)

This is my wedding ring, which changed a few months ago. Previously it looked like this (see here too), a little bit round and a little bit square. Now it's totally round, a bit thick and irregular.
Here is the story about it. Our wedding rings are made in silver and were crafted by a friend who is also an astrologist. He melted the silver at a certain hour a certain day specific to us so that the metal would absorb good vibrations. Then last year, when I started to not like mine so much anymore, he just hammered it into another shape, without melting it, so that it would not loose its properties.
So now I have a new wedding ring but it's still connected to J's. How nice is that? I love that I could change it just like that. I like traditions and have a lot of respect for them, but at the same time I think it's good to change when you feel like it's time.

I forgot this one yesterday, because it's new and it was around my neck :) I bought this rose quartz recently from Astral Eye on Etsy -she has some crazy things in there, have a look at this! Fascinating, isn't it?

jewelry (1)

These are my only valuable necklaces. I only wear silver pieces -I would wear white gold if I had some- as gold or anything coppery doesn't work for me.
I got the first one as a present -from friends + me. I absolutely love its sleek and perfect appearance, and the idea that it's in silver and not paper. Have a look at all the other beautiful pieces this parisian duo have created on their website origami jewelry.
I got the second one as an exchange with Lauren Haupt last year. She has a beautiful shop full of simple and beautiful pieces, have a look! I sent her some calendars of my own and got this necklace in exchange, isn't this lovely?
Do you wear jewelry? What kind?
PS: there's a giveaway on Facebook going on :)
Moving to Paris!

We're moving! J has just found a job, so we're officially moving -well, he needs to call back and say yes first.
He is still looking for jobs, just in case something better shows up, but we can now look for a place to live in Paris! Ha! I am sooo happy! You can tell by the number of exclamation marks used here.
Have a great day/week, friends!
The picture is perfectly irrelevant but 1) I like it 2) I don't care :)
heat

Yesterday has been really really hot (36°C), I felt like I was in an oven. I'm not used to heat and don't enjoy that. We stayed with friends to celebrate their birthdays though, which was very nice. How was your week-end? I'm still hooked on perfume :)

fragrances

I have just received a small box from Brooklyn (to me this is completely exotic and exciting and makes me want to move to the US earlier than we had planned, for example right now). This box contains 6 tiny bottles of perfumes created by Anne of MCMC Fragrances, and I am so excited about them! The scents are simple and complex at the same time, they are so interesting to dive in. I know there are some I could not wear at all, but I love them anyway.
I am very, very picky when it comes to perfume -writing this I realise I'm very picky about anything actually, but I'm fine about that, I think I know myself and my needs quite well. So, the only thing I have worn in the last months and years are simple organic fragrances I find in France, and I often find myself frustrated by the lack of creativity or complexity coupled with simplicity.
Anne explains about how she thinks memories can be captured into scents on a card in the package, and I totally relate to this. I once found myself saying to a friend, in a street of Berlin, while in exchange: 'it smelled summer two steps ago...'. Here, Garden might be my favourite, I am wearing it now to see how we can work together. It's crazy how this perfume talks to me. So many feelings and so many stories. I might be on perfume or something.
Also, I love the simplicity of the whole sample kit, all bottles placed in a small ivory pouch and each with a little white label. You can see and learn more about Anne and her work on the Makers website (beautiful photos by Jennifer Causey). Outside-the-US readers and potential buyers, you can order from her via Republiika.

a random year on Flickr

After a year of nothing on my Flickr account, I was wondering what to do with it when the email from Yahoo arrived, saying my pro account was about to expire. So, I took another year, and then uploaded something like 800 pictures (!) to fill the gap between last July and now. Everything is mixed up and I don't know if I will be able -or just want!- to sort these out and write dates and descriptions, but I wanted these to be there.
So, here are a few of my albums, old and new:
Pig and Pepper (natural patterns)
The Lobster-Quadrille (man-made surfaces and patterns)
Queen Alice (some pictures of me)
A Boat Beneath A Sunny Sky (skies)
Looking-Glass House (interiors)
I hope you like them. Off to pick up J now, then work, then sleep! Thank you for all your comments and messages. You're the best :)

packaging

This is how the necklaces are packaged, in case you're wondering :)
I love packaging, and really work on the way my goods should arrive to you. There's been improvement over the years and I guess there is always room for it, but I'm pleased with where it is now.
By the way, thank you for your positive response to these and your orders. I am gathering precious things for the next step now, as you can see here.
Now have a lovely day and although it's cool and grey here, happy Summer!

Here they are! I have opened a special side-shop for them: Supercollider. Radiohead went to my head and all the necklaces' names are taken from their songs.
Thank you very much for your support and your recent comments! They all made me happy.
This shop is a first step in my necklaces making project, these and these will be part of the following. I hope you come along with me :)
Oh, and I forgot: get 10% off your order with coupon code CODEX in Supercollider shop!

And this is what I made. It is so inspiring to see all these textures and colours together, I would like to make something out of these experiments... will see.
