hearts

This is the little card I made that we sent out to family and friends with our wishes for the new year. I forgot to show it to you, so I take advantage of today being Valentine's day to do it, and to send hearts to all of you. Now have a lovely day :)

in the country

oh, and before I forget, here is a song I love by An Pierlé, who I discovered at Agnes Obel's concert 10 days ago. She's a favourite now.

Saturday

Saturday was a lovely day. LM and I took the bicycle and went to see my mother who was helping preparing a small concert. We met her friends and in the evening we came back for the concert: 2 French and 2 Argentinean playing argentine and brazilian music (some folklore with their personal touch and some of their own composition).

I wasn't expecting anything and what happened was just amazing. It started quite softly but then the more they played the more I liked it, I just wanted to dance all night in the end. We were 60 or so, packed in a large living-room, the atmosphere was cosy and very friendly, we all had fun. These musicians are so talented! After the concert we all had some soup + the food everyone brought, then they had a jam session where we even sang all together, then they stopped, my mother and I left, and I heard they had another jam session until 4am. What a night! One of the Argentinean felt like a brother to me, it was a very strange feeling. Maybe we were siblings in another life?

Have a great week, friends!

a dream place

This is my mom's studio. Seriously, wouldn't you all want to work there? And you haven't seen everything yet. Last picture, it's me being jealous.

LM's nanny is sick, LM is recovering and getting better, so yesterday morning we left to spend the week-end at my parents' house. Everything is quiet here and LM sleeps twice as much as usual. What are you up to this week-end?

watercolour

Made some new experiments yesterday.

what I did yesterday

I have started watercolouring again, and it feels so nice... I realise it takes 5 minutes to get started and wonder why I am not doing this more often. I think I need to do it on a weekly basis.

Painting with water is like a meditation: when I'm at it I think about nothing and just observe the way colours spread into each other. It makes me feel calm, happy and fulfilled.

Our afternoon walk (2)

Tomorrow I'll show you what I have done today :)

Our afternoon walk

LM is a little sick today. So, I took her in the sling and off we went for a one-hour-and-a-half walk. She was half asleep the whole time. I bought some of my new favourite paper and we went back. Now she's sleeping, which is the reason why I am currently able to post. These are some of the things I saw and liked along the way. More pictures to come.

Bicycle

She sits behind her father and I play with her when I can. Otherwise she sings and makes funny little noises to keep her amused.

Monday morning

I discovered Gianpaolo Pagni's work on Saturday, at an exhibition which is taking place a hundred metres from the house. I bought 2 of his books right away. His images are simple yet graphical, so rich in colours and textures. It makes me want to paint.

Also, if you are in Paris, I highly recommend you visit Khadi and Co's little shop (address on the website). It's small but the textiles and colours are so beautiful, you can feel the quality. I just passed by the window the other day and had to enter.

And last but not least, A few new things on ça envoie le bois.

High hopes on Monday morning, and the first one is to make all the others a reality. Happy day and happy new week!
