Quiet Sunday

Here is a little sneak peek of what I have been doing over the week-end. I'll tell you more about these later.

Hey, but the week-end is not over, which means I still have time to try and cross things off my to-do list. Have a lovely Sunday!

week-end!

This week-end I'm on my own, and the plan is to work, work, work. We'll se how it goes. What are you up to?

29

It's J's birthday today. I made a bread with buckwheat, corn flour and various seeds in the afternoon, that we had for tea with a delicious jam homemade -with love, as you can see on the label- by his sister.

Have a lovely evening and don't forget the giveaway!

Paris in black & white

Don't forget the giveaway :)

Paris in colour

So we spent the week-end in Paris. It was good, although the weather was the most dreary -grey, cold and damp. We took it easy, had delicious food at Loving Hut, then went to see the Eiffel tower -pure touristic thing, but hey, isn't it what we are? We saw this green wall on our way.

We finally watched Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland! It was about time. I really enjoyed it, but then I'm totally partial when it comes to Burton's work. I especially liked all the symbols that reflect Alice's inner states, and liked that we see her when she's older and able to deal with things she just had to undergo when she was a child. What did you think about it, did you like that movie?

On Sunday we just spent time eating at different places with different people, really enjoyed it. I'm back home with some new energy, which feels good. Have a great week!

*shop update + giveaway*

Those who recently ventured in my shop may have noticed I have been listing a few photos -122 to be precise, phew! It took ages but I'm happy it's all done now. In the future I would like to list a few of my favourite photos now and then. Oh, and if you really like one and want it printed, just send me an email.

Now the fun part: I will send one print of any photo listed in the shop to two readers. Ha! I told you there would be more surprises coming along, didn't I?

To play, leave a comment to this post before Friday 28th January (at 10pm, GMT), and don't forget to tell me:
- the title of the photo you want
- your email address so I can contact you if you win :)

Please feel free to add any story, words, cool vegan recipe, or anything else you would like to share with us. By the way, thank you for your stories and cool suggestions in the previous giveaway! I haven't been able to try anything yet, but I am very grateful for all your comments.

As usual, this giveaway is open to everyone on the planet.

I will pick someone at random and will announce the winner on this blog on Monday 31st January morning. Good luck!

Evening birds

I love when the sky looks like there is some volcano smoke around with grey, orange and purple shades.

I hope your week is turning out well. What are you up to this week-end? We are going to Paris, I am delighted at this thought!

Dancing

LM starts smiling when we start playing this song -by a French singer that has been around for the past 30 years. Then we dance to it and she giggles. She loves it. I love it too.

Have you seen LM's new shoes? First real pair. I got them at Shak-Shuka. I also got her some lovely trousers and leggings, all in sale. Will show you soon.

A typical day

I wake up. I wish I could sleep 1 or 2 more hours. J brings LM in our room and I feed her. I dream for half an hour while J gets her ready and walks her to her nanny + friends.

I get up and have breakfast. I turn the computer on and start working doing things, although I try not to spend too much time on useless things during the day. I get orders ready. I take care of my little shop.

I prepare something and eat it when I feel hungry. I blame myself for keeping my desk so messy. I blame myself for blaming myself. I have a sweet rice milk. I wonder if I will soon find time to finish start LM's clothes. I listen to music -Agnes Obel is this month's choice. I bicycle packages (with your orders!) to the post office. I organise the classes I will soon be giving. I grab my camera and get a few pictures of the wonderful sky.

I realise it's already 5.30pm and we need to go and get LM. I feed her. We play together. We dance together. She might have a bath. I get her ready to sleep and say goodnight. I get back at my desk where all the work that has not been done during the day is waiting. I do something not related to work and that is preferably far from being a priority.

I eat whenever I feel like it. I realise it's 11pm. I do some serious work. I have a shower. I thank myself for the flexibility of my life. I still hope I will start making LM's clothes tomorrow.

***
I guess I wrote all this to realise the changes that need to be done. I organised my desk today. Hurray! So many things on my to-do list though. Let's get things done. Have a great evening folks!

A book + a giveaway result

My husband got me this book for Christmas a year ago, and I think I haven't looked at it enough yet. It's about Tim Burton and it is full of drawings, paintings and words, and stories on him by other people. It's huge! I really like his drawing style, it's free and very expressive. This guy is so prolific. Completely obsessive (the same themes come over again and again), but he is true to himself and it's all very inspiring. I like his use of watercolour a lot. Tim Burton is one of the few artists I feel very much connected to.

And now, what you are all waiting for of course, the giveaway result! An illustrated calendar is soon going to fly to... Jasmine! Congratulations to you, and thank you to all of you who left comments. I am very happy to see you were a lot to want one :) But please don't leave, there will be another surprise soon.

Happy Thursday!

skies

One of my best friends got me this book for Christmas. I had seen an exhibition of Stephen Shore in Paris several years ago, and since then I have always wanted to get his book and dive in his pictures. Now I have it, I want to move to the US.

Happy day everyone, today's the last day to enter the giveaway!

bits

Our home. I like it, it feels good and cosy. Still want to move, though. The other day a good friend said I'm completely unstable, which I like.

Beautiful things on the walls include Anna Emilia's print, Hanna Konola's screen prints and one of my mum's paintings.

Mallory and Anne, the last picture is for you :)

** Don't forget the giveaway! It ends tomorrow evening European time.

her again

Have a lovely week everyone, and don't forget the giveaway!

her

This little girl had a haircut (and apparently she is not the only one!) on Christmas eve, to help her hair grow thicker and faster. So now she's an almost bald baby, but that doesn't make her less cute. On Friday, to our great surprise we discovered 4 more teeth in her little mouth, and her nanny told us she dragged her 2 little friends into bedlam during the afternoon nap -I hope this makes sense in English? Anyway I really like the fact that she has an exciting life of her own and that we don't know everything about it.

Happy Sunday!
