I have recently come accross a Ghandi quote which I like a lot: 'be the change you want to see in the world'. I have known it for several years but these days it seems to match every situation in my life. I am sometimes angry at objects or machines around the house because they won't function, as if they were too rigid or simply do not want me to use them. But I know everything would be completely different if I took the time to do things properly and think of what I am doing only.
Ghandi's words often resonate in my head. They really speak to me as they are very general and can apply to anything, but also because they give a strong sense of responsibility, which I think we often lack. I deeply think we have to deal with ourselves in the first place, people and situations being only reflections of what is actually happening inside of us. And, feeling responsible for what is happening in my life makes me so optimistic, everything is possible!
This way of thinking led me to where I am now, and even if I have some efforts to do to simplify my life and appreciate every moment of it, I am very happy.
Is there a quote, a sentence, or special words that have a strong effect on you?

That's a great quote, isn't it. It's one of my favourites.
ReplyDeleteThe quote I am most inspired by lately was said by Arundhati Roy - "Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing". I just love it! It keeps me hopeful and motivated.
So well put. I think you're very right about this. It's a way of thinking I think I'd be very wise to employ more often.
