Rufine is for you!

Rufine is a Happy Fish from Bretagne. She just told me she wants to move far away, but doesn't know where yet. If you think you could adopt her, just leave a comment below and tell me how you like to eat your crêpes :)

Answer before Sunday 24th, 11:00 pm GMT, and I will pick someone at random. Good luck!

  3. Hi Flora, I think Rufine could live here in Germany with me! I like galettes with eggs and crêpes with egg liqueur … hopefully, that is what Rufine likes, too :)

  4. Hehe, she is lovely and makes crepes too?! ;)
Well, we have a nice warm (in summer) little stream just across the road, with dragonflies and frogs and yellow irises. Do you think she would like to live here, please ask her!
So sometimes she could come over and we would have our crepes with freshly squeezed lemon and some sugar on top!
Thank you, Flora, you are so funny!

  7. Hi, Flora!

I have been following your blog for a month now and have to say it's really interesting and funny and I love your happy fish. I think that Rufine would be very happy to share a room with my six months old daughter Mia Ana who's gentle and nice and smiles all the time. Btw ... I love crepes with maple syrup and home made vanilla ice cream. Wish you and your family all the best in 2010!

  8. Paris is not so far, but maybe she would like to go on holidays in Italy ? I am sure she would love the coast of Puglia, it is just wonderful.
As for the crepes, there is nothing better than melted butter and sugar.
Your blog is a real daily pleasure, thanks :-)

  9. A nice fish... Would a bretonne survive in Germany, or is it too far from the ocean? I like my crepes with melted butter, sugar and some fresh lemon juice.

  10. oh how i'd love to welcome rufine into my home! she'd be best friends with "sharkey", my beloved shark stuffed animal who will never leave me, even though i am fully grown. not that i had him when i was young, i bought him at age 22. anyway!

i love crepes involving a little bit of chocolate in some way. truth be told, i don't get to eat crepes nearly as often as i'd like... they aren't very prevalent in my section of the US - this fact is very displeasing to me. the only crepes you can find are dessert-ish crepes... i'd love an opportunity to try more savory options.

  11. A cutie! I didn't know your fish were so big, just recently found out!

Salty crepes or sugary crepes? I love both! Salty crepes with creme fraiche, salmon and a little bit of dill. Sugary crepes with chocolate and banana... Mmm Just thinking of crepes makes me all hungry!

  12. Ah !

    Merci bien.
    Elle déchire ta bigoudène.

    Allez, da kousket, maintenant.

  13. Oh, what a sweet & lovely gift X

I am sure Rufine would love to come & live here in England with us - we can take her walking in the woods & for picnics when the sun returns - until then she has a choice of three little people to snuggle up with :)))

As for the crepes, sometimes we experiment a little, but it always seems to come back to sugar & lemon, such a perfect combination!! (Butter & jam is also very scrummy).

Now it is bedtime, but I want a crepe!!

  14. I think Rufine would like to share delicious sweet sherbert ice cream crepes with colorful sprinkles in America, with some of his happy fish friends, after swimming in the cool waters of the Atlantic Ocean off Martha's Vineyard Island. She will be quite in fashion with her darling and very cool bathing cap! Please swim over Rufine.....you will not be sorry!

  18. Rufine could do great swimming in this seas. Maybe some surfing too :)
(I like my crêpes with cheese prefereably)

  19. Promise I won't eat crêpes with Rufine inside !!!!

  21. Hello Flora, I feel a bit cheeky commenting here as I've only just found your blog! But I love it and will be back.

Of course, if Rufine fancies coming to live in Belgium she will be very welcome indeed, charming smile and all! We don't live near the sea - there is a lovely big lake just ten minutes' walk from our house, alas two big herons live there, I don't think she'd enjoy that - but she could come with us to enjoy delicious Belgian beers in the cafe in our village.

I usually eat my crepes with savoury fillings but my favourites are sweet - jam with cream cheese or lemon juice and sugar. Always good!

    Best wishes to you!

    helen

  24. My crepes are eaten with lemon juice and sugar, which is how my Grandmother and my Mother made them for me when I was little ... happy memories ... I'm sure that the little fish will love them too xxx

  25. Could Rufine swim across the big ocean to live in Australia? We have lovely fish here for her to be friends with!
Cinnamon butter and poached peaches with my crepes at the moment - its summer and the peaches are in season!

  26. Standing up or sitting down, I like my crepes anyhow. With a little lemon drizzled and a little sugar. With berry jam and some ice-cream. With fruit and cream. With butter lightly spread. Eaten with a knife and fork, or with my hands in a tight roll... there is no right or wrong way to eat a crepe, I only wish I indulged in eating them more often. For breakfast, lunch, tea and supper.

Beautiful, beautiful work. That handsome fish of yours, Rufine, is sure to make her new and lucky owner smile.

    xo

  28. If she's coming to live with me it will not be very far from Bretagne....I'm living close to Angers. But she is very welcome here! And we can bring here home sometimes, our pepe lives right on the coast of Bretagne.
I prefer to eat my crepes with caramel au beurre sale, hmmmmmmm!!!!

  29. Dear Flora,

She is beautiful. Even she would not travel all the way to frost covered Finland, I am sure while reading these words that she will get a good home.

    Have a warm Sunday.
