September is full of good things

I'm so happy we are spending the week-end at my parents' house. I enjoy every single thing here. This old Cadbury's box is where we used to store the cocoa powder for hot chocolate during my childhood, I have seen it so much it feels like it's part of me.

I just love these animal sculptures by Clive and Sunshine (found via Mallory's lovely blog Where the lovely things are).

2010 calendar

unexpected

I'm working on a 2010 photo calendar and this is what came out when making some printing tests.

I'm very happy with the results so far, I hope you will like it too. This calendar will be for sale in my shop.

my little tribute

My mum just told me she hasn't seen Zoé for a few days, which is not usual, and so we think she has left to a secret place where she will rest forever -I think it's what cats do.

She was 18 so it's no big surprise, but it feels strange as she had always been my little companion. Everything is just right, I mean things happen when they have to. I just love her.

busy week

I am quite busy and the commissionned illustration work I accepted a few months ago is actually happening now -luckily I feel good enough to work on it!

I made a little dress and another sleeveless cardigan. This is how I relax when I don't feel like working. I just can't not do anything.

getting ready

My mum gave me those 3 little baby shirts. I even might have worn them.

My man came back after 2 weeks on study trip, and everything is ready for Lou Mé now. We still have some painting and other things to do, but we have everything we might need with her when she's here. It feels good.

These are the prints and drawings I treated myself with recently (and I won the first one!). They are not hanging anywhere for now, I need to arrange a room first. I went to the post office this morning to get the last one from Tali, I love it (I like the stripes on the shirt, and like the idea of having such a little friend). The package was fun too, and there was a sheet full of bus stickers with it!

making Sunday

I realised yesterday night in a sudden burst of anxiety that I should start packing the things I will need when leaving to maternity hospital. No need to worry though as everything is almost ready but still had the feeling that nothing is. So today I just made a bag (this has been on my to-do list for ages) that will carry all her things (I used this great tutorial -it's so easy I can do it!).

second-hand shop

I love second-hand shops. This morning I found little pots, a second little plate, like this one, an old suitcase and inside of it was an old little card. It says "Mr & Mrs Léon Bignaud thank you and send their best wishes for the new year". Very nice surprise.

quietly working

I'm still practicing crochet and making little clothes without tutorial -I just can't follow any, I must be unfit. I made a sleeveless cardigan and legwarmers, and have some nice new colours to work with.

I'm a hardworking girl but as you can see I don't mistreat myself (I found the plate under the chou à la crème at a flea market back in July).

Shakshuka is a sweet shop, I love their wooden toys (got this one!).

I love this poster (via Fubiz) and this is a fun way to show your portfolio (via Swiss Miss).
