many random things

Plants are doing good at the moment. The orchid you see has been mine for 3 years, and this flower is the first one for the past 2,5 years! And there is more to come. The others have recently been given by my brother to put in our food.

I have opened a mailing list: if you want to know about new illustrations/products in the shop, collaborations, and generally what I'm up to, please send me an email and I'll add you to the list. Don't worry, I only send an email every 3 weeks or so.
Note: email me even if you have received emails previously, as I'm starting it properly and from zero now. Thanks!

Now a few of my Etsy favorites at the moment:
1. Leo by Ptitebaloue
2. Marching band cat by Jamie Shelman
3. Beret 22 by Dadaya
4. Celebration candles by the Small Object
5. Fresh ideas by Yaelfran
6. Tiny fox and forest studs by Joanna Rutter
7. Raindrops by Cicadastudio

And here is the text Hélène wrote about my sleeping bear, in English:
Gently lying on the floor of his lair, the bear is having a rest and is trying to follow the thread of his thoughts, the strength of his desires, the power of his dreams. He sees himself floating on his back, in a warm and transparent water, and lets himself be carried away by the river. He can feel the waves covering him, going through him and bringing him always a little bit further. Fish and dragonflies surround him and follow him. He opens his eyes, looks at the bright sky and sees an eagle smiling at him from above.

Now have a great day!

Paper n Stitch

From today and until May 31st I am exhibiting on Paper n Stitch: it's a nice website that offers a place for artists, illustrators and handcrafters to show their work (usually via their own shop). Please visit, and if you like my work don't forget to vote for me (click on the heart on the top left of this page). Thank you!

On Saturday I met Julia while she was signing the books she illustrated, in Nantes. Her work is great! Visit her portfolio and have a nice day.

new calendar in shop!

I have up-dated the shop with a funny date reminder made with some of the little characters that inhabit my sketchbook. It's black & white, printed on recycled white matte card. There is an English and a French version!

Give away results: thank you for all your comments on the sleeping bear. They were all cool and quirky. However I liked 2 best and have decided to send 2 sleeping bears to Christine and Hélène. Enjoy! (Hélène, would you translate your comment so that English-speakers can read it?)

Message aux francophones : j'ai traduit les pages "produits" de ma boutique en français pour qu'elle soit plus accessible. Ce blog, par contre, restera anglophone (trop de boulot...). Merci !

Late Birthday Giveaway

I have just realised I missed my blog's birthday. I started it last year on the 11th April. But it doesn't really matter, as long as we celebrate!

***
I have decided to send a sleeping bear print to one person. The bear you can see on the header of this blog is printed (big) on an A4 size ( 8.3" x 11.7", landscape) professional paper and signed.

To get it, leave a comment to this post before Friday 24th April, midnight GMT, and tell me what the bear is dreaming of! I will pick the comment I like the most and send the print to the person who wrote it. Good luck! And have a lovely Sunday!

new fish in the shop!

I have updated the shop with 6 new happy fish. From top to bottom, on the left: Sérapion, Hilarion, Pélagie and Albert. From top to bottom, on the right: Venturino and Rodolphe. I hope you like them!

There will be some new prints in the shop soon, as well.

Sweden (last)

Oh my, I have not been very serious with this blog these past weeks. So many things to do, so much tiredness, and so many new projects!

These are my last pictures from Sweden. We then went to Brussels --where the waffles are wonderul-- for a day and a half, and I met the lovely Couac! I didn't feel like taking any pictures though.

I have also changed the links colour and the header of this blog, a happy sleeping bear seemed more appropriate to my state now.

And at last, thank you for your comments!
